Hello! My name is Maci Joseph a sophomore Chemical Engineering major from New Orleans, Louisiana. Hair care and cosmetic product development was the area of research that peaked my interest in Chemical Engineering. After coursework and research in new engineering topics, I developed an interest in materials and nanotechnology. Always open to new things, I am excited to jump into research in Senegal this summer.

 

Some of my hobbies include travelling, puzzles and learning new things. During the summer of 2015, I had the oppportunity to intern at Los Alamos National Laboratory as an Assistant Researcher. My research was focused on single-cell encapsulation using microfluidics. This will be my first experience outside of the United States. I am looking forward to being immersed in a new culture while being able to conduct meaningful research in Chemical Engineering.
