Hello! My name is Joycemary Amponsem. I am a sophomore Biology major Chemistry minor at Howard University.  As an aspiring Physician I have developed a deep understanding of the importance of scientific research in treating patients and making a positive impact on society. Although HU GEARUP Senegal is a short experience, I know that it will have a long lasting effect on me by increasing my awareness of the Senegalese culture, and improving my research acumen. One aspect of Senegal that I am eager to explore is its rich history and how the Senegalese people fit into the larger narrative of the African diaspora. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, hanging out with family, and learning about a wide range of topics. I am excited to share my journey through blogging and can't wait for this trip to begin!
